I'll most likely get a midi foot switch and use it as a sort of multi effect since it does have great reverb and modulation onboard so I can use it to dial in just a basic ethereal reverb or chorus effect, but also have the crazy looper stuff too.ĮDIT: want to clarify that I only used this pedal with electric guitar. It's a good pedal, but a bit overhyped in my opinion.
You basically have to leave a LOT of space between your notes otherwise tracking doesn't pick up right, or you just miss out and the effect gets lost in the playing. My problem was no matter what preset it was, I always had to play the same to get the most out of the effect which just gets boring. The Microcosm is, at its core, a granular processor, meaning that it chops up incoming audio into little bits, processes them and spits them back out. It's okay for a pedal to change the way you play-that can be inspiring. I feel like the tracking on certain presets wasn't super great and the pedal forces you to play it a certain way to get the most use out of it.
